Transmission error light came on after a nasty commute (Jag’s in the shop for auto start stop issues). Re-started the car and the transmission error went away, while the Check Engine remained.
Drove it during the lunch break for about 10 miles...
......aaaand now it’s gone.

Probably just needed an Italian Tune- Up

You should still bring it in. There should be a code stored even if the light isn't on.

You know what?
That was a pretty stupid question I asked. A curt and direct response was deserved.

Embarrassingly nearly all of my CELs are because I occasionally didn’t fully click my gas cap. O nce when young I actually went to the dealer for it because I couldn’t figure it out.
So soo embarrassed.

I’m reading that on 4Cs, it’s often loose or dirty battery terminals or gas cap.

Those lights are emissions control related, usually a sensor, a stuck vent or hose issue, thought it takes a cycle to go away on their own.
A Bluetooth OBD II reader you can pick up for $10 on Amazon can clear that embarrassing light if you want to wait a bit before going to the dealer.
Most CARB states require manufactures to have extended 7 year warranties on those issues.

FCA could only make AR better, not worse.

In fairness it’s an Alfa, that portion of the screen may or may not be functioning at any given moment.

hijacked: I wanted to try this method on the Abarth when it gave me an issue. Turns out it had no oil in it so I’m kind of glad I didn’t

It would have gone out in proper Italian fashion had I given it the ol’ pedal to the metal pistons to the metal treatment - that’s where the kind of is. Then maybe I would have hated it and not miss it so much. I love the Miata and don’t regret my choice, but the meatball was a number one want/dream car for a long time and it was worth owning my hero.

No oil warning?

It needs one regardless!

yeah, instead of like a low oil or change oil kind of thing it went straight to low oil pressure in a hard turn. Figured I was SOL because that sure as hell doesn’t sound good - the multiairs apparently love to just drink the stuff as they age so I traded it in and said I love you but good bye
